Who we are

Financial Rat ("we") operates this website. Operator: [your name or company, address]. Contact: email.

What we collect

No account, no sign-up. You can use every feature without giving us personal data.
Searches (ticker symbols) are sent to our server to fetch public company data from our data providers. We do not link them to you.
Preferences and your portfolio (in the portfolio tracker) are stored only in your own browser (local storage). They are never sent to us; only the ticker symbols are used to fetch current prices.
Reviews: if you write a review, the name (or nickname), rating and text you enter are stored and shown publicly on the Reviews page. We do not ask for your email. Ask us at the contact address to remove a review.
Downloads counter: the number of free downloads you have used and your license key (if you paid) are stored in your own browser.
Payments: if you buy downloads or Premium, Gumroad processes the payment and shares with us your email address, your name (if given), the product, your license key and its status. We use these to check your downloads and to send you one thank-you email with an invitation to leave a review. Legal basis: performance of the contract. Card details stay with Gumroad. Records are kept as long as the law requires.
Technical logs kept by our hosting provider (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability, for a short period.

Advertising and cookies

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through a consent banner before personalised ads are shown.

Third parties

Company data is provided by third-party data providers (Financial Modeling Prep, the U.S. SEC's EDGAR system, Yahoo Finance). Your browser does not connect to them directly. Payments are handled by Gumroad, and emails are sent through Resend. The website is hosted by Netlify.
