How the numbers are calculated
- Value = number of shares × today's price, converted into your chosen currency at today's exchange rate.
- Gain or loss = value − what you paid. When you sell part of a holding, the shares sold are counted at your average price paid (the average-cost method), and the profit on them appears as a realised gain.
- Today = how much the value moved since the previous trading day's close.
- Prices can be delayed. Dividends, fees and taxes are not included. For education only, not advice.
